Welcome filmmakers

The Cinema Academy is a hub for future, current and past IU filmmakers. We provide opportunities for experience and connections through co-curriculuar programming. Whether you're an IU student or alumnus, or a high school student exploring cinematic arts for the first time, we're pleased that you're a part of our community.

High school students

You don't have to wait until college to start your filmmaking education and gain hands-on experience. Spend a week on campus in one of our precollege programs. If travel isn't feasible, we offer a virtual option, too.

IU students

Whether you're studying cinematic arts or simply interested in filmmaking as an extracurricular pursuit, we offer opportunities to gain experience outside the classroom. Join the Student Cinema Guild, submit a film to Montage Film Festival or connect with professionals at our Expert Workshops.
