An intensive summer program for future filmmakers
Greetings Day Camp Animation Academy participants and parents!
We are incredibly excited to host such a talented group of young voices in Bloomington this summer and provide a wonderful experience to help you further your passion and create a tight-knit network of friendships as you explore animatio.
To make the most of your week, we stress that you must read this page thoroughly.
First, please review the documents linked below, which include the Assumption of Risk form, Talent Consent form, and Medical Release form. Those three forms must be printed, signed by a parent or guardian, and brought with you on Sunday during registration or we cannot allow your child to attend.

DROP-OFF/PICK-UP
Drop-off/Check-In
Monday, July 22nd between 8:30-9am EST
Franklin Hall (601 E Kirkwood Ave. Bloomington, IN 47405)
Day one check-in will take place in the Franklin Hall Commons, which is most easily accessed through the main wooden double doors on your left after passing through the Sample Gates and proceeding straight. Staff will be greeting you at the main entrance and guiding you towards the Commons between 8:30-9am. Please make sure you leave enough time for day-one check-in. It should only take a few extra minutes. You can refer to the maps linked above for further information. Please make sure you have the three forms completed and ready when you arrive.
*Should you arrive late, call Andrew, the program Director, at (812) 856-8083 to inform him.
Franklin Hall is also the site of the main camp curriculum throughout the week. For the rest of the week, students should report directly to Franklin Hall, Rm. 073 by 9am.
Daily Pick-up
Monday–Friday, students will be concluding each day at Franklin Hall, Room 073 at 5pm. We will soon be finalizing the evening activity schedule for the overnight campers. Your "day camper" students are invited to the evening activities, but they are purely optional. The activities will include film screenings, board/video games and a bowling night (we would pay for the bowling cost). If they elect to go to dinner with the overnight campers, they should bring a debit/credit card. We will follow up with a detailed evening activity list this Tuesday. If your child wants to remain on-campus for additional time after 5, they are invited! Please let us know if this is the case.
When arriving at Franklin Hall for pick-up, you may either enter the building and pick them up from Room 073, or you may wait for them outside. There will be staff waiting with the campers there until 5:30pm. Please do your best to ensure your student is accounted for as promptly as possible.
If you live/work nearby and you wish for your child to walk on their own at the end of the camp day, then please notify us via e-mail so we have your written consent that this is permitted. We will not allow campers to leave on their own on foot without your prior written consent.
Pick-up/Finale Event
Friday, July 26th, from 5-6pm EST
IU Fine Arts Building Room 015 (1201 E 7th St, Bloomington, IN 47405)
The camp will conclude with a showcase event where students will present their final projects for friends and family. We recommend parking on the top level of the East Parking Garage (150 N Eagleson Ave, Bloomington, IN 47405) and walking to the Fine Arts Building (about 7 minutes), so please plan on parking with enough time to get to the finale by 5pm. We will have staff present to help guide you to the room.
Pick-Up will be directly after the showcase. Students will already have their belongings with them.
MEALS
Lunch/Dinner
Campers will be eating lunch at the Forest Residence Hall Food Court (a 15-minute walk from Radio/TV). Each student will be given a meal card that allows them access to the dining hall. All meals are all-you-care-to-eat, so there won’t be any issue of running out of money.
*As mentioned above, if your student wants to join the overnighters for dinner and other overnight activities, that is fine, they would just need to have a debit/credit card to pay for the meal.
Food Allergies/Dietary Restrictions
Generally, there is plenty of food to accommodate all diet types. An RPS Registered Dietician will be on staff, so please feel free to contact them prior to the session for specific dietary discussions. Customers with life-threatening allergies should use caution. Request to speak with the chef at dining locations to prepare food in allergen-free areas for your specific dietary needs.

COVID INFORMATION
At Indiana University, masks are not currently required for students, staff or faculty. If a student starts to feel Covid-like symptoms, the protocol is as follows:
Student immediately takes a rapid-result Covid test (we will have some, but it is suggested to send one with your student just in case)
If the student tests positive, the camper is to stay in their assigned room until picked up by a parent/guardian or until the camper has been fever-free for at least 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication) and have had an overall improvement of their symptoms.
When the student ends their isolation, they are to take the added precautions for the next 5 days:
Wear a well-fitting mask around others
Exercise proper hygiene such as washing hands, covering your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, and cleaning frequently touched surfaces
THINGS TO BRING
Required: Bring an Umbrella and/or Poncho—Indiana weather is unpredictable and walking in the rain may be unavoidable when walking from one building to another. The walks are typically 15-20 minutes and we don’t want folks unprepared for rain.
Thumb Drive/Lanyard/Meal Card- All of these items will be given to the students at check-in. The meal card can stay inside the lanyard with their name tag. The thumb drive can stay clipped onto the lanyard.
Water bottle-A metal water bottle will be given to students at check-in.
